Kandi was the first woman to win The Masked Singer, which made the episode even more significant. “It feels great,” Kandi told Elle DeGeneres in her first post-show interview. “Once I got used to everything that was happening on the show, I was like, ‘Wait a minute. No other woman has won this? I have to do it,'” the RHOA star explained. “And that was really my goal that got me through to the end.”
Several viewers guessed Kandi Burruss as the Night Angel a few weeks back. The celebrity’s performance of ‘Rise Up’ by Andra Day gave her devout followers Xscape vibes.

“From the very first note, I knew that was Kandi,” one fan said after watching the performance. “Her voice is too distinct.” Another of Kandi’s followers wrote, “That’s Kandi, man. Y’all can’t tell me that’s not Kandi.” They were right!
Kandi Burruss revealed her motivation to participate in The Masked Singer during Wednesday night’s episode. “For so long I had to convince myself that I wasn’t enough,” Burruss said. “When I didn’t find success as a solo artist, I decided to develop other businesses behind the scenes of music. I did what I had to do because I’m a mother.”
Burruss went on to say, “I’m here not just for myself, but for all women and for my little angels — to show them it’s never too late to be the person you were meant to be.”
The Masked Singer inspired Kandi to revive her career as a recording artist. Her new single, ‘Used To Love Me,’ is available on Spotify and Apple Music. The new season of The Masked Singer begins this fall.
