Have you heard of Hamilton the amazing Broadway hit? Of course you have! Well, Hamilton fans rejoice because Lin-Manuel Miranda is bringing Broadway to Disney+ in the first “Hamilfilm,” and we cannot wait!

“I’m so grateful to all the fans who asked for this, and I am so glad that we’re able to make it happen,” Miranda said in a statement. “I’m so proud of this show. I can’t wait for you to see it.”
The films release will take place on July 3rd on Disney+. “In light of the world turning upside down,” Miranda said, “[everyone watching will have] the best seat in the house.”

The film will feature the cast of the original Broadway production performing at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Although footage of the live performance has been seen in the 2016 PBS “Great Performances” documentary entitled, “Hamilton’s America,” the full performance has never been released to the public until now!

The “Hamifilm” will be directed by the play’s stage director, Tommy Kail. In addition to Miranda as Alexander Hamilton, the film will feature: Daveed Diggs, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Leslie Odom Jr., Christopher Jackson, Jonathan Groff, Phillipa Soo, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Okieriete Onaodowan, and Anthony Ramos.
Hamilton is a musical with music, lyrics , and book by Lin-Manuel Miranda that tells the story of the American founding father, Alexander Hamilton. The musical was inspired by the 2004 biography Alexander Hamilton by historian Ron Chernow. The music is a mixture of Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, Soul, and traditional show-tunes.
