In her epic WNBA career so far, Candace Parker has won a WNBA championship with the Los Angeles Sparks and won the WNBA MVP (Most Valuable Player) award twice. Rather than rest on her laurels, Parker is always striving to achieve more, and her inspiration for that comes from her 10-year-old daughter Lailaa Williams, who she had with her ex-husband Shelden Williams.
In a recent Instagram post, Candace Parker shared a picture of her and Lailaa and in the caption, Parker shared how much her daughter means to her and how Lailaa inspires her to be better. “I may laugh and joke about how hard Motherhood is but make no mistake about it IT IS MY PURPOSE and REASON. Lailaa Nicole you inspire me EACH AND EVERYDAY,” said Parker. “I love you to the moon and back. Please know I want to be better FOR YOU. And days I don’t want to do something or get out of bed, I do it for you. Not a holiday or a birthday just my thoughts❤️ #Random #InMyFeelings #SawAPostAndFeltCompelledToExpressMyself #IWantHerToBeProudOfMe.”
Candace Parker eventually hopes to coach her daughter someday, but in the meantime they have plenty of quality time to spend together, especially since the coronavirus has kept them quarantined at home. Parker encouraged her fans in another Instagram post to share acts of kindness they’ve done or received to spread positivity in the era of coronavirus. “During these times, Lailaa and I have been thinking of the best way we can spend our time,” wrote Parker. “Now, more than ever, spreading love and kindness is so important. Share the acts of kindness that you’ve shared or received and let’s spread the positive vibes. @visiblemobile has just launched #VisibleActsofKindness. And we are working on something special for some of you who share your stories.”
