The Minions are back this summer in the upcoming Illumination Entertainment/Universal Pictures movie, Minions: The Rise of Gru.
In this latest saga of the minions story, movie-goers will get to see the untold story of a 12-year-old Gru. In the heart of the 70s, amid a flurry of lava lamps and peace symbols, a pre-teen Gru is growing up in the suburbs. A superfan of a supervillain supergroup, the Vicious 6, Gru hatches a an evil plan to join the gang. As a result, he gets a crew of loyal followers of his own-the minions. When the Vicious 6 oust their leader, Wild Knuckles, Gru interviews to become their newest member, and of course, it doesn’t go well and Gru is on the run as he discovers just who his true friends are in the circle of evil. And of course, Kevin, Stuart, Bob, and Otto will make it their mission to save the day.
Minions: The Rise of Gru will star Taraji P. Henson, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Lucy Lawless, Dolph Lundgren and Danny Trejo will voice the Vicious 6. Check out the trailer below and make sure to hit theaters nationwide on July 3rd. A new minions movie is definitely something that we needed!
