K. Michelle has a new album and a new surrogate, too! The celebrity mom tells MadameNoire exclusively that she is moving forward after her first attempt at having a surrogate for her family’s expansion failed.
Some may remember a young lady by the name of Tannae who announced that she would serve as K. Michelle’s surrogate in a YouTube video last year. Many were excited to learn about Michelle’s plans to have more kids. Few knew that Tannae jumped the gun by sharing the news before K. Michelle had a chance to make the announcement in her network. K. Michelle sought legal counsel after Tannae and her boyfriend attempted to use her name for clout. The celebrity mom ultimately decided to move forward with the surrogacy process sans her first choice.
“I’m not using that clown,” K. Michelle tells Madame Noire of Tannae. “Let me ask you something,” the celebrity mom continues. “If you have nothing, right? Nothing. Somebody has paid for your children’s everything. Your children’s birthday parties since they’ve been on earth. I met this woman in Ikea. Someone that you call even for gas money. They help you — because I always end up helping somebody. Then they put you on TV and you go behind my back and sign a Love and Hip Hop contract.”
“They use it as bargaining power against me, thinking, ‘We have your story you have to sign up.’ Well, as long as ain’t no eggs in her, you ain’t never got my story! You’ll never back me into a corner. But the fact that that was even tried for something so serious as a child’s life, you get what I’m saying? That’s really bad.”
“So you do this behind my back after I help you, then you negotiate a contract of only $500. If you had went (sic_ through me, you know how much money I could have got you? For you and those babies to appear on that show? I would have tried to get each baby at least three to $5,000 a pop. But you went behind my back.”
In addition to negotiating a contract with Love and Hip Hop behind K. Michelle’s back, Tannae’s boyfriend also asked for a separate contract. “The dude, asking me for a contract like he got a uterus! Why are you even in this,” K. Michelle asks. “He’s doing all the talking. He still got dreams of being a rapper,” the celebrity mom says.
Some may wonder why K. Michelle involved herself with Tannae in the first place. The two had, after all, connected after one random meeting in IKEA.
“I thought it was the universe,” the recording artist tells MadameNoire. “I be taking stuff as signs,” Michelle continues. “I met these triplets. What are the chances of, here I am, I want twins, and I want twin girls and that’s what I want badly. I’m walking [in IKEA] and I see a baby carriage and it’s three babies just born. Three gorgeous little girls! I pick up all of em at one time and was attached to these babies ever since.”
K. Michelle is the proud mother of a son, Chase Bowman, for whom she purchased a Mercedes-Benz in honor of his sixteenth birthday last September. The celebrity mom hopes to add twin girls to her family by way of a surrogate soon. Stay tuned for more Love and Hip Hop baby news!
