AM: How are you and Dion alike and how are you different, (other than his superpowers)? Why? What have you learned about acting from veteran actors like Michael B. Jordan?
JY: Me and Dion are alike because we’re both learning to skateboard, we both are living with our moms and we’re both pretty energetic and happy kids. We’re different because Dion is having to experience some pretty serious life experiences that I have never dealt with, also because on Raising Dion, Dion is annoyed by Esperanza at first, but in real life me and Sammi were instant friends from the day we met and still are! And working with veteran actors is amazing! I learn a lot from them from small things to like the best ways to prepare and get ready for shooting to big things like always staying humble. Michael B. told me to always be humble and I am! I’m definitely grateful for the opportunity I’ve been given and I want to be able to share it and give back to the people who helped me get here!
