Apryl Jones is focused on being a good mom after the last season of Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood (LHHH) placed at the center of what turned out to be a significant scandal. Many of the show’s co-hosts and fans did not approve of Jones dating Lil Fizz. Now, the celebrity mom speaks on the issue.

“I don’t live my life for people,” Apryl tells Claudia Jordan of FOX Soul. “I will never understand why it’s such a thing,” the celebrity mom says of her relationship with Lil Fizz. “But, then, I could understand it by seeing that people don’t have the whole story,” Apryl admitted. “Love and Hip Hop is not showing everything. And then, it’s been silence because I haven’t been on the show in a long time.”
Apryl Jones returned to LHHH after ending her relationship with B2K group member Omarion in 2016. There were rumors that Apryl was in a relationship with B2K group member Lil Fizz. The celebrity mom later affirmed her relationship with Fizz, which brought about a storm of criticism. Many took issue with Apryl dating Fizz while having two kids with Omarion. Apryl, however, refused to allow the opinions of outsiders to dictate what she should do.

“Drew is an incredible human being,” Apryl tells Claudia. “Honestly, I have to thank him for where I’m at in my life because if he wasn’t there, I don’t really know – with just me being a mom and kind of dealing with the things that I was dealing with – where I would actually be, currently.”
Jones goes on to explain, “I was single for three years, and really figuring out myself, and building my brand, and trying to just get back to Apryl and being a great mother. That was my goal; just to be a good mother to my kids, and to build my life back up after it had been torn down. And that generally was how it was. I just happened to have the support – Thank God, by the grace of God – who was a real good friend.”

Apryl Jones neither confirms nor denies whether she and Lil Fizz are still an item. The celebrity mom does, however, remain committed to being the best mom she can be to her kids.
“[The world] is going to have their opinions about my mothering, but my kids are one day going to grow up,” Apryl says. “My kids are going to grow up, and they’re going to have [their voices]. And when they have [their voices], and they’re able to speak, and they’re able to say what kind of mother I have been and I am and I’ve always been … What are you going to say then?”
Jones goes on to tell Jordan, “All I can do is be great for them. I can’t allow that kind of energy to protrude into how I choose to mother my children.”
