Fall is officially upon us. The weather is crisp, the leaves are turning beautiful shades of autumn wonder, and pumpkin spice is everywhere. This is a time for making memories that will last a lifetime. To get you in the mood for fall, Vanessa Simmons has shared some of her Mommy and Me Fall Bucket List “to-do’s” and we cannot wait to tick off our lists and see just how many we can get done!
Go on a Pumpkin Patch Adventure
Ava and I had so much fun on our first trip to pick the perfect pumpkin (or two or three!). We are loving thinking up with unique jack-o-lantern ideas, she wants to create a princess pumpkin ( I’ve got my hands full with that one)–– plus, the roasted pumpkin seeds make a delicious snack!
Take a Hayride Out in the Country
Head out of the city and take a drive down winding country roads to find a family-friendly fall festival with corn mazes, food trucks, and more. Hop on a hayride for a nostalgic afternoon (make it a haunted hayride if the kids are a bit older!).
Trip to the Apple Orchard
The best part of visiting an apple orchard: the apple cider donuts! Of course, we also have a wonderful time strolling through the rows of trees and gathering a basket full of juicy apples to bring home. Ava and I love spending time together in the kitchen and fall is the perfect time for baking apple crisp, apple pie, apple strudel muffins, and more.
Pack a Picnic for a Drive-In Movie
Those clear fall evenings with just a slight chill in the air are a great time to pack up the car and the kids for a fun night at a drive-in movie. Go with a fall theme––cider, soup in a thermos, apple slices and caramel dip, and lots of cozy blankets to stay warm as the sun goes down.
