Trap music pioneer, actor, and activist Tip “T.I.” Harris had the support of his wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris and three of his kids at the 2019 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on June 20, 2019 in Beverly Hills, California.
T.I., along with his daughter Heiress Harris, took to the stage to receive the ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award, which was presented by noted political commentator, analyst and advocate Angela Rye.
“Honored to have been presented the inaugural(first one ever) @ascap ASCAP ‘Voice of The Culture’ award. A pleasure to share this moment. Times like these boggle me because I never thought I’d live to see days like this. Won’t he do it!!!!” T.I. shared on Instagram.
The rapper is the first-ever recipient of the award that celebrates an ASCAP member who has had a major influence on music and culture. In addition to his musical accomplishments, T.I. has taken an active role in philanthropic and community transformation efforts through his non-profit, Harris Community Works (HCW).
