Congratulations to Kaliegh Garris who won Miss Teen USA 2019. The teen was crowned as such on Sunday night (April 28).
The highly-anticipated pageant was held at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. Kaliegh competed against several other teens who were also talented and ambitious. Garris was overwhelmed with joy and excitement when her name was called as Miss Teen USA.
“She is everything in real life,” one Instagram fan wrote online after the crowning moment. “And the crown fits so perfect on that gorgeous Afro,” another social media follower shared.
Many believed that Kaliegh’s crowning moment was the right decision. Several praised the teen for answering a difficult question with grace and attributed her win to that defining moment. “She nailed the answer to a very hard question,” one Instagram fan shared.
Another viewer said, “Learn your lesson. You have to be not only beautiful but also smart to wear the crown, Alabama should have won but her answer was so weak. This young lady had the smartest answer and sounded genuine. She deserves that crown.”
There is certainly more to Kaliegh Garris than outward beauty. The teen, who lives in New Haven and represented the state of Connecticut during the pageant, attends both Joseph A. Foran High School and the Educational Center for the Arts in North Haven. Garris majors in theater at the Educational Center for the Arts.
Kaliegh strengthens her creative arts muscles while also having a desire to be a trauma nurse in the more distant future. She volunteers at Yale New Haven Hospital to learn more about the medical field and move forward in her career plans.
Kaliegh Garris is definitely a rising star. Keep your eyes and ears open for this young lady!
