Wendy Williams has filed for divorce from her husband, Kevin Hunter, and wants child support for their son, Kevin Hunter Jr., who celebrates his nineteenth birthday this year.
According to TMZ,
“Wendy says ‘irreconcilable differences’ led to the end of the couple’s marriage. The docs state a “breakdown” of the marriage over a period of at least 6 months. She wants the court to determine an ‘appropriate amount’ of child support … even though their son, Kevin Jr., is over 18.”
Several media outlets report that Kevin Hunter was served divorce papers while at work on Thursday (April 11) morning. The estranged husband of Wendy Williams allegedly joked about the revelation and told his colleagues, “The papers are here.”
Rumors about Wendy’s marriage ran rampant after it was believed that Kevin’s mistress, Sharina Hudson, gave birth to a child fathered by Kevin. The fire was further fueled when fans of Williams’ television show noticed that she was not wearing her wedding ring. Wendy previously told her show’s viewers that they would know if her marriage were in serious danger the day that she removed her wedding band.
Williams recently revealed her truth of living in a sober house during an honest moment on her talk show. “After I go to the Pilates I go to several meetings all around town in the tri-state area, and I see my brothers and sisters caught up in their addiction and looking for help,” she said. “Doors locked by 10 p.m., lights out by 10 p.m., so I go to my room and stare at the ceiling and fall asleep to come here and see you. So that is my truth.” Wendy assured her fans that her decision to reside in a sober living home was an effort to understand what those who are struggling to overcome addiction endure.

Wendy Williams’ team gave an official statement regarding the television personality’s impending divorce on Thursday. “Thank you to everyone for respecting the family’s privacy during this time. Kevin is supportive of Wendy and they are working through this process together,” a representative said in a statement. “No additional comment will be provided at this time.”
