Bobby Brown and Alicia Etheredge are teaching their kids about the importance of giving back. The celebrity couple stopped by The Real earlier this week to talk about their holiday traditions, which include the kids giving their lightly used toys to underprivileged children.
“Coming from here I’ve come from, Santa don’t come down your chimney,” Bobby Brown said of his upbringing that did not necessarily include the finer things in life. “I go crazy [now],” the star father told The Real co-hosts. “My babies are totally spoiled,” the celebrity father admitted. “I spoil them. My wife’s like, ‘You’ve got to stop. You really have to stop.'”
Alicia Etheredge does not mind rearing kids who enjoy the finer things in life. She, however, does not want her little ones to forget those who may not have such benefits.
“We have a tradition, especially for the holidays, and they do it a couple of times per year,” the celebrity mom explained. “[Our kids] have to go in their rooms and clean out toys. There’s so many [gifts]. I put them up, [and] they never even play with them. So all those unwrapped toys, they come down, we donate them, we give them to less fortunate children, and [our kids] get the new toys.”
Etheredge further shared, “There’s so many children who don’t have enough gifts or even get a gift. So we make sure that they know the value of that.”
As a way to further solidify their charity efforts, Cassius, Hendrix, Bodhi and one of the youngsters’ cousins made a donation to Toys for Tots in honor of the holidays. Watch as the group of four melts the hearts of The Real co-hosts!
