Chance The Rapper is officially off the radar for a weeks. The recording artist shared his plans to go on a religious sabbatical with his wife-to-be, Kirsten Corley, and daughter, Kensli Bennett, in a recent Instagram post.
“I’m on a plane headed out the country on my first sabbatical,” Chance told his social media followers. “I’m going away to learn the Word of God which I am admittedly very unfamiliar with,” he said.
“I’ve been brought up by my family to know Christ but I haven’t taken it upon myself to really just take a couple days and read my bible. we all quote scripture and tell each other what God likes and doesn’t like but how much time do we spend as followers of Jesus to really just read and KNOW his Word. I’m definitely guilty of not devoting time to it.”
Chance The Rapper’s newborn nephew, Charlie Matthew, along with the celebrity father’s daughter served as a sort of motivations for Chance to take the venture down the spiritual road.
“The next generation of Bennett is here and I need to be able to give my nephew Charlie Matthew the knowledge and tools to F*CK YALL UP,” Chance The Rapper mused in his post. “Seriously, he’s the first boy of the next line and he needs his uncle to be educated. So don’t bother me, ill be back soon enough, with five or more books from bible read. Oh yeah, and cigarette-free.”
Chance The Rapper has made good with his promise to read the Bible and live a cigarette-free life. The celebrity father shared an update post in which he and his daughter were hanging out on the family’s plane. “I read Romans, James, and Galatians and I’m currently on day 4 of ZERO CIGARETTES,” the star father told his fans. “I feel really good right now,” he added.
