Melanie Brown, a.k.a. Mel B, is apparently not one to hold grudges. The celebrity mom recently referenced her daughter Angel’s father, Eddie Murphy, as a lovely person during a co-hosting gig on Heart Breakfast.
Mel B was joined by fellow Spice Girls group member Emma Bunton, who described how she and the other girls reacted to the news of Mel and Eddie Murphy being an item.
“I remember when you called me and told me about Eddie. And I was with Jade [Jones] and I was getting my hair done,” Emma said to Mel. “Me and Jade were screaming without you knowing like EDDIE MURPHY EDDIE MURPHY!”
Mel B responded to Emma’s statement with a nod to her daughter’s father. “He’s a really nice guy,” the celebrity mom said. “Angel’s actually staying with him right now. He’s lovely.”
Brown delves further into her relationship with Eddie Murphy in her memoir, Brutally Honest. The celebrity mom tells her readers that she and her child’s father were actually engaged to be married before he abruptly called it quits.
Eddie Murphy apparently thought that Mel B had broken things off when she took a trip to Leeds. Such is the reason why he told a media source that they were no longer in a relationship and that their then-unborn child was not his little one.
“He said, ‘Well, you left me,'” Mel says of Eddie’s response to her questions after his surprising revelation to media. “I explained I hadn’t [left him],” Mel continued, “then said, ‘I’m going to have to leave you now as this is what you’ve done to me.’ I was pregnant. Dumped in public and made to look like a complete and utter slut and gold digger.'”
Old wounds seem to have a way of healing as Mel B now regards her daughter’s father as a beautiful person. Angel is Mel B and Eddie Murphy’s only child together. The celebrity mom has three kids in all. Stay tuned for more celebrity family news!
