Alexis Ohanian has a message for all of the critics who thought that his and Serena Williams’ daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., did not receive a proper celebration for her birthday. Little Alexis Olympia is loved and celebrated every day.
“I’m not a Witness, but I considered how made up it all is: the purpose of celebrating a birthday is to celebrate life with the people who love you (and to eat cake),” Alexis recently said in response to his critics. “This baby is loved and will get to celebrate life with people who love her *plenty* of times, with plenty of parties (and eat cake — in moderation) throughout her life,” the celebrity father concluded.
Serena Williams told the press why her and Alexis Ohanian Sr.’s daughter would not have a party to commemorate her first birthday. “We’re Jehovah’s Witnesses,” Williams said. “We don’t do that.”
Alexis Ohanian Sr. did, however, acknowledge the fact that his and Serena’s daughter was another year old on September 1, 2018. “One year ago today, you changed our lives forever,” Alexis wrote online. “@olympiaohanian, my adventure princess.”
