Jesse Williams will have to fork over more than $500,000 per year to the mother of his children, Aryn Drake-Lee. The Grey’s Anatomy star was ordered to pay $50,629 per month in child support for the care of his son, Maceo, and daughter, Sadie. Believe it or not, Aryn wanted more.
Drake-Lee asked the courts for $73,369 per month in child support and revealed that her ex-husband could certainly afford such exorbitant amount. Aryn definitely had a point concerning affordability since Jesse makes upwards of $521,000 per month in wages. Still, a judge determined that $50,629 was a sufficient amount needed to care for little Maceo and Sadie.
Jesse Williams has no problem with financially supporting his children. He, however, reportedly has no desire to pay the mother of his children upwards of $50,000 per month. Such is the reason why the actor allegedly contested the amount on the grounds of him feeling that he should not be forced to pay child support directly to his ex-wife. Jesse’s legal team also argued, “The reasonable needs of the children can be met by [Williams] directly paying school tuition, uninsured medical and certain other expenses totaling $7,465 a month.” We guess the judge didn’t see things that way.
In addition to paying more than $50,000 per month in child support, Jesse Williams was also ordered to pay for Aryn Drake-Lee’s legal defense that totaled $270,000. Jesse Williams filed for divorce last year after he and Aryn Drake-Lee were married for five years. Stay tuned for more celebrity child custody news!
