“As The CW expands to a six-night, Sunday through Friday schedule next season, we are proud to have such a deep bench of great returning series for 2018-19,” the network’s president said in a statement. “We have a terrific selection of programming to choose from when we set our fall schedule in May, with more still to come,” he added. “I’m especially happy that we’ll continue to work with the incredibly talented casts, producers, and writers who create the series our fans are so passionate about.”

Black Lightning is one of ten CW series renewed for the upcoming season. Supernatural is among the block of returning shows, which is quite remarkable given that the series is headed towards its fourteenth season. Now, how’s that for longevity in Hollywood?

China Anne Mcclain delved into the adventure and significance that is her character in Black Lightning during an interview earlier this year. “Well, Jennifer is young,” China explained. “She’s a teenager. For her, getting her powers is very different than Anissa getting her powers for the first time, because I’ve said that she’s older, she’s confident.

“She knows who she is at this point at this point in her life and she’s comfortable with that, but Jennifer is still trying to figure that out, so to have this happen to her is a huge deal and she feels kind of an alien on Earth. It’s difficult for her to deal with.”
Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more details about the second season of the CW’s Black Lightning.
