Imagine being parent-shamed for holding your daughter in your arms. John Legend was the latest celebrity father to suffer a bit of trolling and criticism online after a picture of him holding his daughter, Luna Stephens, surfaced online.
The star dad was cuddling his little one while showering her with kisses. Many thought the sight was simply adorable. Few critics, however, found it disturbing to see John holding Luna so much. “So tired of seeing them carrying her,” one person wrote online. “She needs no legs then.” Really?

So anyway, John Legend responded to the daddy shaming that he recently received online. “It was hilarious,” John told media. “People, you know, I think people kind of, they see one photo and they want to make judgments about how people live their life and I think the best advice for all of us is, let parents be parents and don’t criticize on what you see on social media.”
John’s formal response to media wasn’t the only response to all of the shaming. Chrissy Teigen shared her thoughts on the criticism with the trolls themselves. “Are you so tired of it,” she asked. “Does it make you so sad and upset? We are so sorry to make you, queen holland messier of the universe sad and upset. What can we do for you to make it better, sweet angel?” The clapback is real.

Chrissy Teigen is definitely no stranger to parental criticism online. Many may remember the trolls who came for her when she decided to go down the slide with her daughter. The celebrity mom responded to those shamers as well.
Nothing gets past Chrissy Teigen! Stay tuned to see how she and John Legend navigate the spotlight with two children when the Teigen gives birth to their second child in coming months.
