Jesse Williams has hit a bit of a snag in his divorce proceedings. A judge recently ruled in his estranged wife Aryn Drake-Lee’s favor by requiring Jesse to up his game and give her more money for spousal support: about $17,000 more.
According to TMZ,
“Jesse Williams just got hit hard … a judge just signed off on a huge hike in spousal support he’ll have to pay his estranged wife — going from $33k to $50k per month.
Aryn Drake-Lee had gone to court to ask for the increase based on his ability to pay. She and Jesse hammered out the agreement, and the judge approved it earlier this month.
The divorce has been incredibly acrimonious … particularly after he was linked to Minka Kelly.
The exact amount of the new spousal support obligation is $50,695 per month.”
The good news is that Aryn is now responsible for paying the mortgage and other expenses related to the family home. Jesse, however, must give his wife an advance of $50,000 for her lawyer fees.
It was just last year that the public became aware of Jesse and Aryn being forced to use an app when communicating things pertaining to their kids. Aryn accused Jesse of being selfish when it comes to the kids. He, according to her, refused to prioritize their needs over his schedule, which created turmoil on all ends. Such was the reason for the app.
How will Jesse Williams and Aryn Drake-Lee navigate the road of co-parenting now that he’s paying more in exchange for her being responsible for the mortgage and whatnot? We’ll have to stay tuned and see!
