Christmas will not be ruined on this youngster’s watch. One little boy called the authorities in hopes of saving kids from the Grinch.
TyLon Pittman heard the story of the Grinch who stole Christmas for the first time this year. The 5-year-old was quite concerned about this character who breaks into the homes of children such as himself and steals their toys the night before the big day. TyLon knew that he couldn’t take on such an evil yet powerful creature himself, which is why he solicited the services of a 911 operator. The goal was to get the police on the case and shut the Grinch down this holiday season.
“Our dispatcher posted a status on Facebook that she had received a call from a little boy … and he told her he thought the Grinch was going to be coming to steal his Christmas,” Officer Lauren Develle told media. “I asked her to send me his address,” she said.
Officer Develle responded to TyLon’s house to assure the little one that the Grinch wouldn’t be operating on her watch. “I kind of find it really funny… Every Christmas morning, my dad wears these Grinch pants,” Develle said. “It’s his favorite movie. Growing up seeing the Grinch every Christmas was my favorite thing.”
TyLon’s older brother, TeDera Dwayne Graves, was absolutely stunned that his younger brother called the authorities on the Grinch and that an officer actually came to the scene. “I can NOT make this up,” he exclaimed on Facebook. “My 5-year-old brother called the police and said that the Grinch is stealing people’s Christmas and he don’t want him to steal his, so they really came to our house!”
The Byram Police Department let little TyLon lock the Grinch up for a few hours before releasing him back into society. Check out the youngster’s news interview below!
