We’ve all heard of and probably have watched on more than one occasion the Spike TV show, Lip Sync Battle starring L.L. Cool J and Chrissy Teigen. The show has become so popular that now the pint-sized superstars that dominate Nickelodeon are giving it a whirl on Lip Sync Battle Shorties.
Debuting on Friday, January 12th on Nickelodeon at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT), hosted by Nick Cannon and sidekick JoJo Siwa, real-life kids will lip-sync to popular pop songs and more in celebration of their favorite musical artists.
Lip Sync Battle Shorties will personalize their performances, make creative decisions of music, song, costume, choreography and more. Each episode will feature the Shorties Dance Crew, a 10-person, in-house backup dance crew, to help contestants put the perfect cherry on top of their performances.
“We had so much fun making Lip Sync Battle Shorties and can’t wait for everyone to see what these incredibly talented kids came up with. It was really exciting to see these performances come straight from their imaginations onto the screen,” said executive producer Casey Patterson said in a statement.
And of course, what would Lip Sync Battle be without the special celebrity guest popping in from time to time. Celebrity guest appearances are slated to include Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez, Fall Out Boy’s multi-platinum rock artist Pete Wentz, Echosmith’s Sydney Sierota, and more.
