Teething, meet Alexis Olympia. Serena Williams shared a post this past weekend that talked about her daughter’s latest developmental stage.
“Teething- aka the devil – is so hard,” Serena told her Instagram fans. “Poor Alexis Olympia has been so uncomfortable,” the new mom continued. “She cried so much (she never cries) I had to hold her until she fell asleep. I’ve tried amber beads… cold towels…. chew on mommies fingers…. homeopathic water (lol on that one) but nothing is working. It’s breaking my heart. I almost need my mom to come and hold me to sleep cause I’m so stressed. Help? Anyone,” the star mom asked.
Assistance came in the form of many fans sharing their experience with children who are teething along with a bit of advice. “There is a special root that we would always use when our babies were teething and it helped do the trick,” one of Serena’s subscribers said. “It goes around the baby’s neck on a string, no more teething problems.”
Another of the star athlete’s followers wrote, “Frozen teething rings and flavor ice pops help. Also, teething tablets by Dr. Hyland’s.”
This isn’t the first time that Serena Williams has asked her public for help with mothering. It was just a few weeks ago that the new mom asked mothers to chime in on breastfeeding.
“Fellow moms: How long did you breastfeed,” she asked via Twitter. “Is it weird that I get emotional when I even just think about when it’s time to stop?” Many moms affirmed Serena by saying that her feelings were not abnormal and that the tennis star should let her daughter decide when nursing sessions are over.
Alexis Olympia is Serena Williams and husband Alexis Ohanian’s first child. Stay tuned for more celebrity mom news!
