So this happened. Kim Kardashian was talking about the impending birth of her and husband Kanye West’s third child to Ellen when she let the gender of their little one slip.
“We had a baby shower over the weekend, and I thought, You know, I really do want to have a baby shower because I want [North] to feel that something’s coming and for her to really understand it,” Kim told the talk show host. “So people brought toys and gifts, and she was opening them all up the next day. She said, ‘Mom since baby sister’s not here, I think I need all of the toys in my room and I’ll play with them and just make sure they’re all OK for baby sister.'”
Ellen, being the alert host that she is, immediately caught the additional information and sought to affirm what her ears heard. “You just told us it’s a girl,” the television personality said. “Yes, it is,” Kim replied. “It’s a girl.”
Some fans probably had an inclination of the gender of Kim and Kanye’s third child after seeing the decorations and theme of the baby shower this past weekend. Kim told fans that the celebration was more of a “tea for baby number three” and made sure that the venue was decked out with flowers. North was also in attendance at the shower and played an intricate role in keeping guests excited about her baby sister.
Kim and Kanye know the gender of their third child but have yet to decide on a name. “At the baby shower, I was like, ‘I don’t want to play any baby games, measuring the belly, none of that will work for this time around,” Kim told Ellen. She did, however, ask attendees to write a potential name on a piece of tile so that she and Kanye could possibly “see if there’s something that sticks.” Kim went on to say, “We’re freaking out. We have no name.”
