Someone stop the clock! Cree Hardrict, son of Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict, is growing up and we can’t take it. The youngster recently asked to have his hair cut and mom, being the good parent that she is, obliged.
“Yes, someone got a haircut,” Tia captioned underneath video footage of her son sitting in the barber’s chair getting a massive haircut. “I just did a live video explaining why I decided to cut my sons hair,” she added. “If you missed it, it’s plain and simple. He asked me to. As his mom, I’m here to nurture his thoughts and ideas and that’s exactly what I did. He said he wanted to look like daddy and was very specific how he wanted his hair. Someone is a very happy boy and that’s all that matters.”
We will surely miss Cree’s beautiful, curly hair. It was just a few weeks ago that Tia gave her ‘Quick Fix’ YouTube channel fans a tutorial on how she detangles her son’s mane. We thought that Cree’s hair would be an always and forever staple at the time. Nevertheless, things change.
Tia Mowry told ESSENCE.com last year that she hadn’t made plans to cut her son’s hair. “My son has long hair and he’s constantly bullied on Instagram about his hair,” she explained. “It’s painful. There’s this weird stigma on, ‘oh he shouldn’t have long hair. He’s not a girl.’ I asked my son, I said, ‘Cree, do you want to cut your hair? Do you want mommy to cut your hair?’ He’s like, ‘No, no mommy.’ I’m like, ‘Okay, then we ain’t cutting your hair.’”
