Stop the presses! Mason Smith, son of Ne-Yo and Monyetta Shaw, is officially 6-years-old. The youngster’s mom shared pictures and beautiful notes in honor of her son’s birthday this past weekend.
“Wishing big boy Mason a very Happy 6th Birthday!! Where is the time going,” Monyetta asked. “You are the best son ever!! So smart, super sweet, extremely caring and so chill! You make me feel like super mom even on my worst days! One of your ‘you’re so beautiful mommy…. good morning mommy… you’re the best mom in the whole wide world’ along with that awesome smile and my entire world lights up! THANK YOU MASO 4 simply being you! Again… I can’t wait to see what God has in store for you and Sissy!!! I love you so much! I am beyond blessed to be your mother!”
It was just last year that Monyetta and Ne-Yo collaborated to give their son and daughter, Madilyn, a joint birthday party. The bash was beautiful in more ways than one as Crystal Smith, Ne-Yo’s wife, joined in on the festivities.
“The party was a success because our kids had a great time,” Ne-Yo told Us Weekly after the event. “That’s what it’s all about,” he added. “No beef, no bad blood, no shade … we are grown. This is what it looks like when grown-ups act like adults.”
Monyetta Shaw also commented on last year’s beautiful party saying, “It was important for us to throw their birthday party together, as we have before, to continue to set a positive example for our kids and to let them know that no matter what, they are loved and celebrated.”
