Kobe Bryant is creating a beast of a player in his 11-year-old daughter, Gianna. The retired NBA player recently shared video clips of his latest training sessions with his tween and, may we say, Gianna has major skills.
The 11-year-old was faced with the challenge of breaking through her father’s defense to make one shot. Gianna couldn’t even see the hoop once her father stood over her with his arms in the air, but she still managed to maneuver and make the shot.
Another clip showed Gianna in motion. The youngster faked a move to confuse her father and score. “Gigi working on that stroke #wristwork #wnbafinals,” Kobe Bryant captioned.
Bryant’s 11-year-old had to be schooled in the ways of acronyms during the family’s trip to Disneyland a few weeks back. Gianna heard many of Kobe’s fans calling him the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) and thought the label was quite rude.
“It’s me, my wife [Vanessa], my eldest daughter Natalia and our middle child Gianna,” Kobe shares with South China Morning Post. “And fans throughout the park keep walking by me saying, ‘You’re the GOAT, you’re the GOAT!'” Unable to take any more of the fans’ supposed disrespect, Gianna spoke out on her father’s behalf.
“Gianna turns to one of them and shouts ‘how rude.’ I asked her what was wrong, and she says, ‘They keep calling you a goat, that is so rude!'” Kobe had to explain to his middle child that being deemed the GOAT is actually a compliment. Only after her dad explained the meaning behind the acronym did Gianna turn and thank fans for their praise of her father. Too cute!
Kobe and wife Vanessa Bryant have three children together. Gianna is the only one taking after her dad in the ways of basketball, thus far. Stay tuned for more Kobe Bryant celebrity father news!
