Yandy Smith-Harris is spending time with her favorite girl, Skylar. The celebrity mom shared pictures of her with her “mini me” this past weekend.
“While Omere was in basketball camp the girls had a Lil fun today,” Yandy told fans. A day at the park was part of the celebrity mom’s fun with her daughter. Yandy was photographed while helping her little one climb on top of the recreational area’s equipment.
Of course, Skylar and Yandy didn’t let the weekend pass without supporting Omere in all of his sports endeavors. The youngster went through several basketball drills while Yandy and Skylar watched from the sidelines. Little Skylar even had a chance to show off her outfit that she put together all by herself. “Whatcha think,” the Instagram post asked fans.
It was just a few weeks ago that Yandy Smith debuted her first children’s book, My Blended Family, which is meant to help kids adjust to blended homes.
“We, of course, are in a blended family,” Yandy said of her inspiration to write her new book. “My son’s older brother could not make it to his birthday party, because of a prior obligation with his mommy. My son was completely disappointed that his brother wasn’t coming to his birthday party. He was more distraught that his brother had a different mommy.”
The celebrity mom further explained, “I created this book for parents to have an easier way to explain to their children that some families are different, but they are still normal. I wanted him to know that he is not alone. He is not the only kid who has siblings with different families or parents. He fell in love with the book, because the kids in the book look like him and his siblings. It is good to have books that have roles and characters your kids can relate to or look like them.”
