Baby Dakota is living the jet-setter life. The youngest daughter of Jewel and JR Smith recently took her first trip to Miami Beach, Florida via private jet.
The 6-month-old rested in mom’s arms while on the aircraft and explored the sites with dad after touching down in the beach city. One photo of JR, Jewel, and Dakota in Miami was particularly precious as it was a full shot of the little one reaching for her mom. Jewel was all smiles while walking beside her husband and daughter.

The Smiths had an army of fans pulling for them when Dakota was born prematurely in January. The little one arrived at only 21 gestational weeks, which gave her a very small chance of survival.
“I was in pain,” Jewel told media. “Every 15 minutes I was getting what I didn’t know at the time were contractions. And I’m like, ‘I think something’s wrong.'” Something definitely wasn’t right as Jewel and JR learned that their daughter would make a premature entrance shortly after going to the hospital.
“[The doctor] was like, ‘I’m sorry, sweetheart. This baby is going to come.’ I said, ‘What? When? How?'” Jewel explained. “I could literally hold her in my hand,” JR said of his daughter’s less-than-one-pound birth. The celebrity dad can still hold his baby girl in his hand but Dakota is now a vibrant, healthy baby.
Jewel and JR Smith are the proud parents of three children.
