It’s been twelve years since Monica’s life was forever changed with the arrival of her son, Rodney “Rocko” Hill Jr. The celebrity mom celebrated her oldest child’s birthday on Monday with a school birthday party.
“Today’s celebration at school was lit,” Monica said after the day’s event concluded. “We had bomb burgers by @theloadedburger dope delicious and GREAT hospitality,” the celebrity mom revealed. “Decor was awesome,” she exclaimed.
Iced by Tara Tomilson put a lot of love into Rodney’s tiered cake that had a basketball theme. “Whole time making this cake couldn’t stop singing…They’re playin Baskeeetball, they’re playin baskeetbaalll,” the cake designer shared online. “Happy Birthday Rocko,” Tara wrote. Rodney certainly appeared impressed by the cake and other decorations as he wore a smile while his classmates sang the Birthday Song.

Rodney also received a pair of custom-made sneakers from DA Sneaker Peddler that made him happy. “This is his face ANYTIME he sees a box from @dasneakerpeddler,” Monica captioned underneath a picture of her son beaming while holding the shoes. “Thank you @dasneakerpeddler. You always come through.”

Monica shared a heartfelt note written to her son days before his smash hit school celebration. “May 21,2005, my entire life changed in every form for the better,” Monica wrote online. “Happy 12th Birthday @rockohill … I’m proud of the young man you are! You’re aware, smart, creative, talented, compassionate and protective … I thank God for entrusting me with you.”

Monica is the proud mom of three children. Rodney and his younger brother Romelo (pictured above) are the singer’s sons with ex-boyfriend, Rodney “Rocko” Hill Sr.
