It was a family affair this past weekend as Golden Brooks and B.B. Woodside celebrated their daughter Dakota’s first communion. Golden shared pictures from the milestone occasion with Instagram fans.
Dakota had family and a few of her friends alongside her as she participated in her first communion ceremony. Golden took a cute picture of her daughter posing with her friends while showing off an emoji-themed backpack. “When besties strike a pose,” the celebrity mom wrote.
Golden Brooks is doing big things these days with her most recent venture being a spot on the upcoming thriller, Darkest Minds. The film is based on Alexandra Bracken’s YA trilogy in which children and teenagers who survive a pandemic in America obtain superpowers that make them a threat to the government. Amandla Stenberg will portray one of the teens with newfound powers in the film.
“Excited to be part of this FOX feature YA drama trilogy THE DARKEST MINDS with a stellar cast and director Jennifer Yuh Nelson,” Golden shared last week. Dozens of the actress’ Instagram followers congratulated her on her success.
Many remember Golden Brooks from the hit series, Girlfriends as Maya Wilkes. Brooks’ character added a different dynamic to the show as Maya was the secretary-turned-author who never lost her identity.
Dakota is Golden Brooks and B.B. Woodside’s only child together. She turns 8-years-old in September.
