Black-ish actress Yara Shaidi is a trailblazing altruist in every since of the word. She has been vocal on a variety of issues ranging from Immigration to women’s rights, leading the charge for her generation to speak out.
Recently, the teenage superstar attended the 22nd Annual “Taste for a Cure” event at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel, on April 28, 2017, honoring Yael and Scooter Braun, who both received the Gil Nickel Humanitarian Award for their dedication to cancer research.
The event, hosted by Angela Basset, undertook the goal of raising funds for UCLA’s highest priority cancer research. Guests dined on and enjoyed an Epicurean delight that ranged from wine tastings to seasonal cuisines, while also enjoying a live auction and surprise performances from Ariana Grande and comedian Jerrod Carmichael. Over the past 21 years, the event has raised over $11 million to further research efforts to find the most up-to-date methods for prevention, detection, and treatment.
Other celebrities that attended the event, were Jussie Smollet, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Fred Savage.
