Riley Burruss is expressing her feelings the best way that she knows how: through music. The teenaged daughter of Kandi Burruss and Russell “Block” Spencer is gearing up to release her song, “Better Late Than Never” that talks about her on-and-off relationship with her father.
“I built up a brick wall,” Riley admits in the song. The young star then presents the idea of reconciliation by telling her father,
“Better late than never
It’s what they always say
So I just have to forgive you
Even though you missed my birthday.”
All of Riley’s negative feelings about dad seem to come from her experiences and not from mom. Kandi Burruss has expressed her desire to work with Russell during several segments of this season’s Real Housewives of Atlanta despite having promises broken by her oldest child’s father.
“At the end of the day, he is her father and if he chooses to make another attempt to be in our lives, of course, we have to have that conversation,” Kandi tells BravoTV. “For me, because she’s fourteen [years old], it’s more about, how does she feel about it?”
It seems that Riley is willing to develop a relationship with her father so long as Russell is up for the challenge of breaking down her walls and proving himself to be a proactive parent. Listen to “Better Late Than Never” to determine for yourself!
