A new trailer has dropped for Hunger Games alum, Amandla Stenberg. Debuting May 19th, Everything, Everything promises to make audiences think seriously about skipping out on taking a leap of faith.
Based on the book by Nicola Yoon, Stenberg plays the role of Maddy-a sick and shut-in 18-year-old, kept at home by her mother allegedly for her safety and health. When Maddy falls in love with Olly, the boy-next door, it is hard for her to shed the growing desire to explore the outside world.
Eventually, the young Maddy sets off for adventure with Olly, leaving her mother a note and setting the scene for a modern day Romeo/Juliet-esk type of romance. “Dear Mom,” Stenberg’s voice echos in a letter to her mother. “I know staying in this house keeps me alive, but this isn’t living. When I talk to him, I feel like I’m outside.”
The film is directed by Stella Meghie from a screenplay by J. Mills Goodloe. Alloy Entertainment, Victor Ho, Leslie Morgenstein, and Elysa Dutton produce while MGM and Warner Bros. are co-producers on the project.
Co-starring along side Stenberg in the role of Olly is Nick Robinson known for his role playing opposite Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in 2015’s Jurassic World.
