A big milestone has come Ciara’s way. The expectant star has signed with Warner Bros. Records to the thrill of everyone involved with the new deal.
“We welcome Ciara to Warner Bros. Records and look forward to the next chapter of her storied music career,” Cameron Strang, Chairman and CEO, Warner Bros. Records, says in a statement.
Ciara has much to offer Warner Bros. Records as her latest album, Jackie, gained the praise of thousands. “I started working on it three weeks before I delivered my son,” Ciara said of her project’s creation back in 2015. “It was really important to me that I did that.”
It was also important that Ciara named her album after her mom, Jackie Harris. “I was inspired to title album Jackie because now, being a new mom, I know what it’s like to be in her shoes and see things from her eyes,” Ciara said during an interview with FUSE. “It was the most fitting thing to mark this really special time of my life and walking into motherhood and womanhood at the same time. In a sense, I am a mini Jackie.”
Ciara is expecting her first child with husband Russell Wilson. The singer also has a son named Future Zahir with ex-boyfriend Nayvadius Cash, a.k.a. Future.
