Critics who slam Mariah Carey for forcing her kids to be in the spotlight should know that Monroe and Moroccan wanted to be in her docu-series. The Pop singer tells media that her twins asked to be involved in filming proceedings.
“I didn’t want to use too much footage of them but they wanted to be involved and they ask to come on stage,” Carey says of her kids.
The Pop singer also explains her motivation for doing the docu-series in the first place. “I was excited because it’s so interesting to put together a tour and hopefully people are going to enjoy it,” Carey shares. “I think it’s nice to see a different side – who cares at this point – if they don’t like it they don’t have to watch it.”
Viewers were shocked to see the behind-the-scenes effort that Mariah and her team put into making every show a success during the premiere of Mariah’s World. Carey’s assistant, Molly, gained special attention when she began crying because the hotel’s television was not compatible with Mariah’s Apple TV.
“The Apple TV, that’s the most important thing,” Molly said in the clip. “If she can’t have the Apple TV playing while she’s sleeping, then she can’t sleep. If she can’t sleep, she can’t perform. If she can’t perform, there’s no show. If it’s not there, everything else falls apart.”
Monroe and Moroccan also captivated the hearts of many as their presence on the show revealed a more genuine side of Mariah. Check out Mariah’s World every Sunday on E!
