Keshia Knight Pulliam is grateful for all of her blessings and that includes her unborn daughter, Ella. The expectant star took to Instagram this past weekend to thank her little one for giving her strength to endure a rather tumultuous year.
“This has been [the] single most challenging year of my life,” Keshia shared along with a sonogram of her daughter. “Thru it all this little face has kept me going and helped me tap into strength I didn’t even know I possess,” the celebrity continued. “I am so eternally grateful for my little Ella. I would not trade any of what I have gone thru for her. She is my greatest accomplishment and joy. She has inspired my smile even thru the tears. I am so proud she has chosen me to be her mommy.”
Keshia Knight Pulliam’s life was turned upside down when her husband, Ed Hartwell, filed for divorce earlier this year. The news took the actress by surprise as Keshia had just announced her and Ed’s expectancy.
“It’s hurtful,” Keshia said during an emotional one-on-one interview with ET Online. “I knew I couldn’t be silent because this isn’t about money. This isn’t about fame. This isn’t about social media likes or follows. This is about my character — my integrity as a woman being attacked — and that’s not OK.”
Ed cited “irreconcilable differences” for the breakup. Some critics, however, speculated that Keshia was promiscuous and that the paternity of her unborn child was questionable.
“This is his baby,” the actress affirmed during her interview with ET. “He wanted more children,” Keshia said of her estranged husband. “He was excited once he found out that we were having a little girl. There was never a question about that. … [At] no point after we got pregnant was there an issue of the fact that we’re having a baby.”
Ella is Keshia Knight Pulliam and Ed Hartwell’s first child. She is expected to make her debut in coming weeks.
