Wise beyond his years, Miles Brown is definitely a Generation Z Renaissance man. Known as the precocious Jack Johnson on ABC’s Black-ish, Mr. Baby Boogaloo does it all. From dancing, to acting, to rapping, Brown is truly a mini megastar in the making.
BCK had the opportunity to sit down and talk with the young actor, getting to know Miles Brown first-hand.
How do you balance school with your career? I balance school and work because I have been going to public school while filming black-ish. Now that I’m working with online homeschool, it makes it even easier to juggle and keep my grades up.
Who inspires you? There are actually a lot of people who inspire me. Some of them are Michael Jackson, the Electric Boogaloos, The Jabbawockeez & James Brown.
What advice would you give to kids your age that either want to get into the business or are just starting out? Some advice that I would give to other kids is probably to keep doing what you love to do! Have fun because it doesn’t matter how good you are at something. What really matters is how much you love it. The bigger you dream, the more kids you’ll inspire to do the same.
Who is your favorite actor/why? My favorite actor is Robert Downey Jr. because he’s funny. I love his character in Iron man! He just has so much humor and is really good at what he does, but after meeting him, he is even cooler in person.
What are some of your favorite things to do outside of acting? Some of my favorite things to do when not on set is having fun with my best friend Isaiah, playing video games and hanging out with my cousins Xavier and Nathan. I also like playing basketball and dancing.
What’s it like working on the black-ish set? It’s such an amazing feeling working on black-ish because we all feel like a real family. We get to do a lot of special things together like go to Disneyworld to film on location or attend the Emmys together. I have gone to New York with my TV twin Marsai, too!
