Tyrese Gibson and Norma Mitchell are back together … well, sort of. The FURIOUS star recently took to Instagram to tell fans how he and the mother of his child, Shayla, are mending their relationship and re-establishing themselves as friends.
“Of all things I’ve prayed for….. It’s please father God get my family back together and if and when we ever have issues let us handle family issues privately so that were not just another family that’s all over everyone’s timelines,” Tyrese explained. “Not only did I get my friend back I got the mother of my child back and our daughter is so much more focused in school, and her overall energy is just amazing cause the tension and friction between me and her mother is over.”
Tyrese went on to tell fans that he and Norma weren’t initially thrilled about the idea of co-parenting harmoniously. “We didn’t do it because we wanted to,” he shared. “We seen the effects it was having on our child and decided to do the right thing.”
Gibson assured his followers that he and Norma were not “back together so relax people.” The all-around entertainer did, however, acknowledge that he is working with his ex-wife to build a better friendship. “I love you and I appreciate you more than you can ever know,” Gibson told Mitchell. “We made an angel named Shayla Gibson and she’s going to remember for the rest of her life that conflicts happen but it takes prayer and maturity to make peace.”
Shayla is Norma Mitchell and Tyrese’s only child together.
