“Happy sweet 16th birthday to my baby girl Lexi! Stay sweet ‘Classy with a hint of sassy’ #selfportrait #LexiLove” was the caption under the single rare photo posted on Supermodel Iman’s Instagram in celebration of her daughter’s milestone birthday.
Both mother and daughter have stayed out of the public eye since the January 10th death of Bowie, two days after his 69th birthday, after a battle with cancer. However, the loving bond between father and daughter can still be felt in the message she received on her special day via her father’s Instagram account.
“HAPPY SIXTEENTH BIRTHDAY TO LEXI,” the post begins. “Fill your heart with love today, Don’t play the game of time… We’re sure you will all want to join us in wishing many happy returns of the day to Alexandria Zahra Jones on her 16th birthday.”
The post on Bowie’s Instagram account was accompanied by the photo of Lexi with her parents as a newborn in the 2000 Hello! Magazine shoot. It was set side-by-side with a picture of a sixteen-year-old Bowie from 1963.
