Everyone is excited to see what writers and producers have come up with in the latest installment of the ‘Ice Age’ franchise. Even Wanda Sykes can’t wait for the debut of Ice Age: Collision Course and she is one of the stars in the film.
The actress tells media that portraying a character in a children’s film is a dream come true for her because she is able to take her kids to see the film without having to worry about the age appropriateness of content displayed. Wanda also has the opportunity to thoroughly enjoy all aspects of the movie with her little ones since they are now old enough to understand the concept of voice-over in film.
Queen Latifah is also excited about Ice Age: Collision Course. “It’s exciting to get the script because you get to be a hero to your nieces and nephews again and it’s something that gets to live with them,” she says.
Long-lasting memories and fun with the family are what the makers of this latest sequel in the ‘Ice Age’ saga were going for. The movie’s producer, Lori Forte, explains, “For this particular story the stuff with Scrat (the sabre-toothed squirrel) actually came first because it was really connected to the first Ice Age movie, where they went through the ice museum and they saw the fish behind the ice, and the dinosaur behind the ice and then they pull back and we see a spaceship. No one knew how it got there, but it was just a fun little joke to us, but we also thought that there was something really interesting there, we didn’t know what it was but I knew one day that we were going to tell that story. So when we were thinking of ideas for this movie, as every movie idea seems to become bigger and bigger, we thought how great of an idea to have Scrat come.”
Fans will definitely be humored by Scrat’s performance in the upcoming film. The pre-historic creature launches into space in pursuit of his beloved acorn only to make a mistake that changes the course of the universe. Now, with the whole Ice Age era at stake, Scrat must utilize the help of his friends to right the wrong that he has committed and prevent disaster.
Safe for the whole family and filled with hilarity, Ice Age: Collision Course promises to be a summer hit. The film stars Wanda Sykes as Granny, Queen Latifah as Ellie, Keke Palmer as Peaches, and Jennifer Lopez as Shira. A host of other big name stars, including Michael Strahan and Ray Romano, are also in the movie.
