As a sort of veteran in the industry, Paula Patton knows a thing or two about action movies. Still, her role in the upcoming film Warcraft was one of her most challenging gigs yet.
“When I was making that movie, it was a very challenging time as I was making changes in my personal life,” she tells Haute Living. “It was interesting because the Garona character was going through a lot of challenges as well.”
Although it seemed as if her struggles were staring her in the face and being played out on the big screen, literally, Paula managed to push forward and complete the task at hand.
“I think the important thing is not to focus on what’s not working or how hard it is,” she explains. “You have to focus on what you do have and make it work, and make it be the best you can. At the end of the day, whatever project I do I give it all my heart, soul and passion. I am very grateful to do what I do, but my child comes first. Always. As long as I know that, then everything else falls in line and you just do the best you can.”
Julian is definitely the apple of his mother’s eye, and he carries his father’s attributes. “He’s taking after his father [Robin Thicke] now, as he loves to sing and play the piano,” the actress says.
Paula Patton has one child with ex-husband Robin Thicke. The couple was married for ten years before divorcing last year.
