Don’t come for Zendaya! The singer and actress recently checked a Twitter troll after he equated her appearance with that of a man.
One of Zendaya’s pictures was used by the critic, who claims to be a jokester online, to supposedly make a point. “She looks like a gay dude wearing makeup,” he wrote. The cyber bully then told fans that his comment wasn’t meant to be an insult. “She just looked like one of those dudes on Twitter I saw before who does makeup.”
Zendaya wasn’t having it and had an epic comeback for the jokester. “Wait,” the star tweeted. “Is this supposed to be an insult cause they slay.” Thousands of fans supported the young star in her stance and even uploaded photos of themselves wearing flawless makeup.
This isn’t the first time that Zendaya shed light on injustice. The young star recently called out Modeliste Magazine for heavily photoshopping her body. “Had a new shoot come out today and was shocked when I found my 19-year-old hips and torso quite manipulated,” Zendaya shared on Instagram. “These are the things that make women self-conscious, that create the unrealistic ideals of beauty that we have.” The young star also uploaded a picture of the original photo and thanked Modeliste Magazine for “fixing this retouch issue.”
Zendaya is best known for her roles in Disney’s Shake it Up and K.C. Undercover. She will release her second studio album in coming months.
