Just last week, Andre Benjamin revealed in an interview with The New Yorker that he and Erykah initially had reservations about having a child at the time when their careers had just begun to take off.

“Me and Erykah actually had to sit down and figure if we were going to keep this child,” Andre said.

In the end, the duo decided to continue with the pregnancy. “She would hit the stage, I would hit the stage, then we would go back to the hotel and I would be putting shea butter on her stomach,” André said.

Looks like Badu and Benjamin made the right choice in keeping their only child together. Seven plans to study psychology /arts and science in college.  Congrats, Seven!
