President Obama is cherishing every moment with his oldest daughter, Malia. The commander in chief took her to a charity event in Los Angeles earlier this week just days after speaking at a law school graduation ceremony in his hometown.
Malia was all smiles while heading away from the launching pad with her father. The president and his daughter later joined a number of celebrities at a fundraiser at the home of Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn in Bel Air that raised thousands for a worthy cause. Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and J.J. Abrams were a few among many to pay between $15,000 to $68,000 for a spot at the party.
Both Malia and her sister, Sasha, have been enjoying the more extravagant things in life as a of late. The girls mingled with the stars at their first state dinner last month. Malia even gave her sister two thumbs up as she conversed with Ryan Reynolds during the event.
The world has watched the Obama girls grow up, and the president couldn’t be more delighted. “People often ask me whether being President has made it more difficult to spend time with Michelle and our girls,” he said during one interview. “But the surprising truth is that being in the White House has made our family life more ‘normal’ than it’s ever been.”
Malia will soon graduate from high school and exchange the normalcy that is home for the unknown world of college. Sasha will begin her junior year of high school this fall.
