Disney fans are getting ready for The Jungle Book that will star Idris Elba and Lupita Nyong’o. The star cast recently took pictures with a few of the animals and shared details about their characters.
“Shere Khan reigns with fear,” says Idris who serves as the voice of Shere Khan. The character despises humans and has the scars to further fuel his hate. “He terrorizes everyone he encounters because he comes from a place of fear,” explains Elba.
Lupita Nyong’o is also a voice in the film. She brings Raksha, a mother of wolves and Mowgli, to life. “She is the protector, the eternal mother,” Lupita says of her character. “The word Raksha actually means protection in Hindi. I felt really connected to that, wanting to protect a son that isn’t originally hers but one she’s taken for her own.”
The Jungle Book is a classic story that many cannot wait to see return to the big screen. The narrative centers around Mowgli who must leave his family and establish a life if his own. The youngster manages to navigate his way through the jungle with the help of a strict panther and free-spirited bear.
