It was a vow renewal ceremony to remember as Viola Davis and husband Julius Tennon said “I Do” afresh during Valentine’s Day weekend. The How to Get Away With Murder star shared pictures from the ceremony a few days ago.
Genesis, Viola and Julius’ daughter, was a key participant in the lively event. The youngster wore white like the other attendees and took a picture with Oprah during the reception. Genesis also cuddled with her father who held her close while slowly moving along on the dance floor.
Viola and Julius have made the most of their thirteen year marriage. “I really feel alive,” Viola said during the renewal ceremony. “If I had to look back on my life, this is the moment that would play out and I would think, ‘Well done.'”
Julius agreed as he told attendees, “This auspicious meeting between us happened almost 17 years ago … It’s been the most beautiful union. Viola, you’ve been amazing. She teaches me every day how to man up, how to agree to disagree but let’s get it done, don’t let the sun go down on your anger.”
Viola Davis wed Julius Tennon on June 23, 2003. The actress and her husband adopted their daughter in 2011. Genesis is the couple’s only child.
