In honor of Black History Month. Cameron Boyce and Kamil McFadden recently paid homage to trailblazers in African American history on Disney Channel’s ‘Be Inspired.’ Via Press Release:
A tribute to notable African-Americans who have influenced and inspired others to express themselves and to lead — Ella Fitzgerald, Janelle Monae, Gary Clark, Jr., Maya Angelou, Lee Daniels, Shonda Rhimes, Harry Belafonte, Jessie Williams and Viola Davis — is presented in a new “Be Inspired” interstitial designed to spark ideas and a sense of discovery for kids age 6-14.
Popular young actor Kamil McFadden, star of “K.C. Undercover,” the #1 live-action series among Kids 6-11 and Girls 9-14, narrates the new installment which will be presented throughout February in commemoration of Black History Month on Disney Channel.
It joins another “Be Inspired” segment featuring Cameron Boyce (“Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything,” “Descendants”) and his personal connection to “The Clinton 12,” the historical African-American teens who were first to integrate a public school in the South in 1956. Boyce’s grandmother, Jo Ann Allen Boyce, was among “The Clinton 12.”
