The Obamas have returned after enjoying the past few days vacationing in Hawaii. The First Family was photographed a few days ago while taking a walk through town in D.C. the president and his oldest daughter, Malia, walked side by side while Sasha intermingled with others.
Mr. Obama is planning to introduce new gun control regulations that will prevent mass shootings like the tragedy that took place in San Bernardino last month. “Change, as always, is going to take all of us,” the president said in a recent address to the nation. “The gun lobby is loud and well organized in its defense of effortlessly available guns for anyone. The rest of us are going to have to be just as passionate and well organized in our defense of our kids. That’s the work of citizenship — to stand up and fight for the change that we seek.”
In fighting for change, AshLee Strong, spokeswoman for House Speaker Paul Ryan, told media that it is important to preserve constitutional rights. “Our focus should be on the consistent causes of these acts — mental illnesses and terrorism — rather than infringing on law-abiding Americans’ constitutional rights,” said the spokeswoman.
The president will introduce his new gun regulations during a town hall meeting on Thursday. See more pictures from the Obama’s return below!
