The verdict is in and Mendeecees will have to spend eight years away from his family. A judge sentenced the ‘Love & Hip Hop’ star to 97 months in prison earlier this week for trafficking heroine through Rochester, New York, several months ago. Mendeecees expressed much regret for past decisions after the hearing, and apologized to his wife, Yandy Smith, and kids for the affects that his actions will have on their lives.
“My transition to be a better person a productive person started well before this case,” the star wrote on Instagram. “However in my past I made some bad decisions. Young men let my life be an example to you now before it’s too late. Better who you are now in your children’s lives and in society so you can change the path of your fate.”
