Amir Mitchell-Townes is making headway as the breakout star of Girls Meets World. With a father, Jeffrey Townes, who is also in the industry, it is no wonder why the teen is such a professional.
“The crazy thing is I didn’t really realize who my dad was,” says Amir of his famous father who portrayed a role on the hit 90s sitcom Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. “Officially, probably until like maybe last year, it didn’t really hit me,” adds the teen. “It was like he’s on a show and he’s performing. That was normal. That was my normality for so long. When I was conscious enough to realize that that was perceived as extraordinary. That’s when I really started to grasp it more.”
In being able to process the reality of things, Amir has entertained the idea of entering the music industry. “We’ve talked about it before we’ve just never gotten around to it,” says the young star of producing more music beyond his seven-track LP. “We’re just all trying to find ourselves and explore,” explains the actor. “You know we all listen to each other and stuff like that. When it feels right it’ll probably will happen.”
Girl Meets World made its debut in 2014 on the Disney Channel. The show stars Ben Savage and Sabrina Carpenter in addition to Amir Mitchell-Townes.
